nWave Distribution

nWave Pictures Distribution was established in August 1998 to handle the global distribution, sales and marketing of all nWave Pictures' original large format productions as well as to acquire distribution rights to third party large format projects.

nWave Pictures Distribution is headed by Mark Katz, a large format distribution veteran of over 11 years, having worked at IMAX Corporation, MacGillivray Freeman Films and most recently at Sony Pictures Classics. Over his career Katz has distributed such ground-breaking films as ROLLING STONES AT THE MAX, TITANICA, TO THE LIMIT, FIRES OF KUWAIT, WINGS OF COURAGE, ACROSS THE SEA OF TIME and was responsible for the launch of nWave Pictures' first large format film, THRILL RIDE: The Science of Fun.

In June 1999, Jennifer Smith joined the nWave Pictures Distribution team as Distribution Assistant. Jennifer is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and has had exposure to the large format world since she was young, thanks to her father, Gerald Smith of Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas.

nWave Pictures Distribution's first release was the 3D film, ENCOUNTER IN THE THIRD DIMENSION, which premiered in Berlin and Los Angeles in February 1999 and has already been licensed to 50 large format 3D theaters worldwide, or two thirds of the world's existing large format 3D theaters. In August 1999, ALIEN ADVENTURE marked nWave Pictures Distribution second release.
